At the beginning of February, T and I flew down to West Palm Beach to attend the wedding of our friends, Lindsay and Dylan. It was our first time visiting (which is rare for a city in Florida) and we were excited to get back to some good ol’ Florida Sunshine.
T and I both loved West Palm and are already talking about when we can return. The city was beautiful and laid back with the palm trees, the cute shops, the restaurants, and the gorgeous blue water.
I am going to share what we did with you in hopes that it might give you some inspiration when you visit or to plan a tropical vacation there soon!
Where we stayed
We stayed at the Hilton West Palm Beach and loved it. Everything was very clean (a huge deal in my book – I hate when a hotel feels dirty). The bathrooms had a huge walk in shower with amazing water pressure (another huge deal in my book) and the pool area was top notch. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel if you are visiting.
Where we ate and drank
We didn’t get to try too many restaurants since we arrived at 9 pm on Friday night and had dinner at the wedding on Saturday night, so I asked Lindsay, the bride and West Palm native, for a few more recommendations to add to the bottom of my list.
Island Bee – Saturday morning we ate at the Island Bee and it was probably my favorite restaurant of the trip. T and I each had an acai bowl and split the avocado toast. They also had organic cold brew on tap (whaaaaaaat). Definitely would recommend this but also like all other places with all organic ingredients, it is on the pricier side.
Copper Blues Rock Pub & Kitchen – We went here for drinks on Friday night and had a blast. They had a live band and the singer was amazing. I loved catching up with friends over great drinks and amazing music!
Nick and Johnnie’s – We had brunch here Sunday morning and I loved everything about it. From the Lily Pulitzer chair covers to the open-air vibe, it was the perfect send off from West Palm Beach. We went with a group of seven people and everyone enjoyed their food!
Avocado Grill (Lindsay’s recommendation) – Any restaurant with avocado in the name is a winner in my opinion! This restaurant is located in Downtown Waterfront West Palm Beach and serves small plates, tapas, sushi and more!
The Regional Kitchen and Public House (Lindsay’s recommendation) – Lindsay says this is a great dinner spot and the food here is fantastic! She’s a foodie so I definitely trust her opinion!
What we did
The Breakers – The Breakers is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen. It’s definitely worth the stop to explore the hotel. We were running short on time so we were only able to walk around for a few minutes but if we had more time I would loved to get a drink or food at one of the restaurants.
The Beach – The beach in West Palm is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen in Florida. The water is such a pretty blue and the sand is white and soft. T and I both grew up in Florida so we were soaking up the Vitamin D and loved being close to the water again. We love Atlanta but something we both really miss about Florida is being close to the ocean.
The Pool – We also spent a little bit of time at the pool at the Hilton. The lounge chairs were comfortable and they had a poolside bars serving refreshing drinks with music playing!
I hope you enjoyed my weekend recap! There are many things I’d like to do when we go back like rent bikes and ride along the water and shop on Worth Ave. Keep scrolling for some pictures from the beautiful wedding we attended. I had a few questions on the dress I wore to the wedding so you can find it here. And it’s only $70!! You just can’t beat that price for a black tie wedding. It has adjustable straps so it fits all body types.
P.S Since I was only in West Palm Beach for 48 hours and don’t feel too familiar with the city, I am not calling this a “travel guide”. By having “weekend recaps” I can still share my travels with you even if I don’t feel like I can give complete recommendations for the entire city. So, the travel portion of my blog will be a mix of travel guides and weekend recaps.
