Today I am sharing my first Valentine’s Day look for you all. I know people have a lot of different opinions of Valentine’s Day. Some hate it and some love it.
I have always loved Valentine’s Day – regardless of how old I was. When I was little, my mom and dad were my valentines. My mom would put a heart brownie in my lunchbox and my dad would buy me flowers. When I got older, I still loved Valentine’s Day, whether I was single and had a GNO or in a relationship.
Now, I am celebrating my 7th Valentine’s Day with T. I also have 23 little 8 year-old valentines that I will be celebrating with this year. Regardless of your opinion of Valentine’s Day, it’s fun to dress for the holiday. Sometimes people want to dress up for Valentine’s Day, sometimes they want to dress down and sometimes they want to dress somewhere in the middle. I’m sharing my “middle” look option for you today and will be sharing my casual and dressy options the next two weeks leading up to V-Day.
My look today is for a casual dinner (maybe tacos and margs – hint hint T) with your valentine or a girl’s night to the movies. This look could even be worn to work (depending on your work environment). I chose to do a lot of layering with this look (the necklace, vest, and belt) so it would be something a little different than just a flannel dress. I like that this outfit is cute for Valentine’s Day but itsn’t in your face with pink and hearts (spoiler alert: none of my V-Day looks will really be like that). In the mean time, T and I have zero Valentine’s Day plans. Any suggestions? Leave them in the comments below!
