Happy (early) Thanksgiving! I am feeling extra thankful today. Normally every year, I make a list of what I am thankful for. I think being thankful is a key component to happiness. Whenever I am having a hard day or feeling sad, I remind myself of all the blessings in my life and it turns my mood around. I decided to share my (not so serious) list with you this year!
I am thankful for:
The Gilmore Girls Netflix Revival -This had to be first on my list. I binge watched all seven seasons this summer (ever wonder what teachers do May – August?) and fell in love with the show. I think T was worried about my sanity. He would come home at 7pm and find me on the couch still in my pajamas rambling about how we needed to move to Stars Hollow because I am basically a long lost member of the Gilmore family. Anyways, the revival is coming to Netflix this Friday and let’s just say I’m stoked. There will be four 90 minute episodes (appropriately named – Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall) and I am beyond thankful the Netflix Gods decided we needed 360 more minutes of Lorelai, Rory, Luke, Logan, and Jess (I am so torn between being on Team Logan or Team Jess- who are you rooting for?).
Black Friday and Cyber Monday – Sales make my heart skip a beat. When I find something I love on sale, I get a shopping high that lasts until I run home and show anyone and everyone who will listen about the amazing deal I got. This poor soul used to be my dad and now it is T. I normally show the item and give the full retail price and then make my contestants guess what I really paid. I then reveal the sale price and expect extensive “Ooo”ing and “Ahh” ing. Cyber Monday is just as great as Black Friday (if not better) because it’s basically like Black Friday without the stress AND you get to shop in your pajamas. I usually do the majority of my Christmas shopping on Cyber Monday.
Christmas time – Christmas is my favorite holiday and Thanksgiving is the official start of Christmas time. I know this is a huge debate but I don’t mind a tiny bit of Christmas before Thanksgiving. I love Christmas music, Christmas movies, Christmas parties, and everything else that Christmas brings! So, I am thankful that it is now almost Christmas celebrating time.
Georgia Winters – I am so thankful it is finally getting cold (but not TOO cold) in Atlanta just in time for the holidays! There’s nothing worse than sweating when you go outside on Christmas (I love you, but I’m looking at you, Florida). My favorite sweaters this season are here, here, and here. The best part- all three of them are on sale!
My marriage – This summer I got to marry the most amazing guy and I am so thankful for him. He deals with all my flaws (leaving wrappers in various places, saying I don’t want any takeout but then eating all of his when it arrives, my Homegoods addiction etc.) and he is truly the greatest.
There are many other things I am thankful for including friends, family, avocados, and all of you reading my blog. I am so thankful for all of your support and love being able to share my story. What are you thankful for this year? Let me know by leaving a comment below!
Happy Thanksgiving!
