Thank you to Seagram’s Escapes Spiked for sponsoring this post!
For as long as I can remember, one of my favorite things to do was have a girls’ night. When I was little, that included snacks made by mom, playing with makeup, directing/starring in silly videos, and watching Disney movies. As I got older, the snacks stayed the same, playing with makeup became full on mani/pedis, and Disney movies turned into Rom-Coms.
The common elements that make these nights so special are the snacks, movies, and the girls. As my friends and I start our careers, get married, or move across the country, I realize how important it is to cherish and nurture the friendships that make life so special. Hence why a girls’ night has become one of my favorite get togethers to host! I’ve compiled a few of my favorite tips for hosting a relaxing and fun girls’ night in…
What to Wear
When hosting a girls’ night, the main component is comfort. Tell your gals to dress in their favorite comfy clothes. You can even have a theme if everyone has a little time to prepare. Some examples are PJs, a sports night, or your oldest t-shirt. Just use your imagination and make sure it gets along with the couch! Here are some of my favorite loungewear:
What to Eat
One of the first things I think about when planning a girls’ night in are the snacks! It’s always a good idea to go with something that’s easy to make and easy to eat. Some simple and delicious snack ideas are:
- Healthy Cookie Dough Dip – This dip is easy to make and my girlfriends go crazy for it since it’s healthy AND tastes great. I usually have graham crackers or pretzels on the side in case anyone is looking for a little crunch.
- Caprese Skewers – These are a crowd pleaser and are VERY easy to put together!
- Popcorn Bar – You can provide different kinds of popcorn (lightly salted, cheddar, kettle corn) and then mix-ins (raisins, nuts, chocolate chips) that fit your girls’ individual tastes!
- DIY Pizza Party – Buy personal sized pre-made pizza crusts and some toppings and let everyone create their own pizzas!
- Veggie Tray and Dip
- Chips and Salsa/Guacamole
What to Drink
The key to a successful girls’ night in is having a signature drink. While everything else can and should be casual, nothing beats having a drink that is both pretty, tasty, and easy to serve.
If you’re looking for a delicious frozen cocktail, I recommend Seagram’s Escapes Spiked “Jamaican Me Happy” and topping it off with some rosé. Just blend Seagram’s Escapes Spiked with some ice, pour in your favorite glass, top it off with some rosé, and garnish with your favorite fruit. If you or your friends prefer strawberry over a tropical flavor, Seagram’s Escapes Spiked “Strawberry Daiquiri” is the perfect substitute.
What to Do
Movies – One of the best things about a girls’ night in is getting to watch the movies that your significant other (I’m looking at you, T) rolls his eyes at. Everyone has their own personal favorites, but these are the top 5 on my list:
Spa Night – If you have the time, one of my favorite activities is to do a beauty/spa treatment. Everyone has their own busy schedules, so a girls’ night is the perfect opportunity to pamper yourself and leave better than the party started! My friends and I usually go with a face mask and/or a mani-pedi. Here are some masks I’ve been eyeing lately:
