Hi Friends! I hope you are having a great week. I’ve been in Florida since Saturday (I get the whole week off – perks of being a teacher) and am loving spending time with my family. Since T and I moved to Atlanta a year and a half ago, we don’t get to see our friends and families as much as we would like. I love the holidays because we get to spend much needed time with our loved ones!
On Thanksgiving, I am usually in the kitchen all day with my mom. We both love to cook and usually start planning our Thanksgiving menu months in advance. This year, we are making this green been salad, mashed potatoes, stuffed acorn squash, a tenderloin (for the boys- they prefer this over turkey) and blueberry crumble for dessert!
Since I will be in the kitchen all day, I want an outfit that can transition from being in the kitchen to being at the Thanksgiving dinner table. Solution: this shawl. It dresses up any outfit (underneath it is my favorite pair of jeans and a basic navy long sleeved shirt). The shawl is basically like wearing a blanket as a top. Who doesn’t want to wear a blanket and still look like they got dressed? It’s a win win if I can get away with wearing something that resembles pajamas but looks like I’m put together.
The ends are finished (I’ve seen a lot of shawls with unfinished hems and I prefer the finished look) and I paired it with my favorite OTK boots but it would also look adorable with a pair of flats, booties, or riding boots. I plan on wearing this shawl all through the winter! I got this cape from my favorite store in Annapolis, The Lucky Knot, but I’ve linked some similar ones below.
