When I first moved to Georgia, I was terrified of the weather. I had lived in Florida for the past ten years and I wasn’t used to temperatures below 60 degrees. I’m not a “cold” person; I’d MUCH rather be hot than cold, so I was worried I wouldn’t be happy living in Georgia during the winter. I remember during a particularly cold week in Florida (in the 50s) I told my mom “The cold is hurting my soul” (dramatic, much?).
During my first winter in Atlanta, I quickly learned that low temps aren’t bad (and will not hurt your soul) if you dress appropriately. I got the right kind of socks and jackets and learned to perfect the art of layering. I’ve now learned to embrace the cold and I actually really love wintertime in Georgia.
The look I’m sharing today is perfect for 50 degree weather. I got this Ralph Lauren vest from the New Years Day Dillard’s sale last year and it’s one of my favorite winter pieces. I can throw it on over any shirt, sweater, or dress and it looks great. Not only is it stylish, but its also super warm.
I’ve started wearing my Hunter boots much more since moving to Georgia too. They are perfect when It’s cold or rainy (or very rarely – snowing). All of my other tall boots are leather or suede so I don’t want them getting wet. I only have this black pair but I’ve been eyeing the navy and green pairs as well. I’ve also heard that Costco sometimes carries them, so next time they do, I’m going to grab myself a few other pairs! My jeans are from Express, my top is from Dillards and my beanie is from C. Wonder (RIP). I’ve linked my outfit and other similar items below!
